Creating a Chat Package Group
Collection versus Group
- A collection is where a chat package is assigned to a single collection ID when created.
- A group allows for already created chat packages to be organized in to sets (or groups) of chat packages.

We are currently evaluating whether to discontinue collections in favor of chat package groups.

The Benefit of Chat Package Groups
Chat Package Groups enable many chat packages to be organized into groups that can then be accessed through the AiWerkz chat interface. Further, once chat packages have been created
they can be organized into many different groups. This is the difference with AiWerkz "collections" where a chat package can only be assigned to one collection. In other words, a chat package can be assigned to many different groups.
Quantity Chat Packages per Group
A Chat Package Group can be as simple as one chat package. Or, a group can have up to 50 (or so) chat packages. The limit for quantity of chat packages is based on the practical limit of
how many chat packages you want to make available to your users in the AiWerkz chat page.
Quick start: You have multiple documents and you want other people to be able to chat with them.
- Create one or more chat packages. Create a Chat Package
- Go to Create a Chat Package Group
- Enter a heading (like your company name)
- Enter a subheading (like the topic of the chat package group)
- Select the chat packages you want to include by click check box.
- Click "Go..."
- To find your new Chat Package Group go to My Chat Package Groups

Scenario: You have multiple document you want to enable for chat
If your organization or project only has a handful documents, less than 20 for example, then it is likely fine to create one group and assign all of your chat packages to that one group. Then
you can provide a chat link to your users to access the chat group.

On the other hand, if you have many documents, perhaps 100s or 1000s, then you may want to organize the chat packages in to multiple groups based on how those documents might be naturally
catorgorized. You could then provide a list of chat links on your site or in your documentation.

The point being is that you have control over how you organize your documents, your chat packages, for your users. You can assign any given chat package to multiple chat package groups to create
overlap where it makes sense for what you want to share with your users.

Scenario: You have one document you want to enable for chat
Not every chat package group will have multiple chat packages. In some cases it makes perfect sense to create a group with just one chat package. The main reason to do this is to
enable your users to use the AiWerkz chat interface. The AiWerkz chat interface, opposed to the chat package display, may be favored by your users as a group easily allows for multiple chat packages to be selected as well as the chat interface's ability to integrate a user's question in to the chat package.

Create Chat Package Group
Creating a chat package group is a simple task. Of course, first you will have needed to have created one or more chat packages. When ready to create a chat package group, go to
Create a Chat Package Group.
- Enter a heading (like your company name)
- Enter a subheading (like the topic of the chat package group)
- Select the chat packages you want to include by click check box.
- Click "Go..."
To find your new Chat Package Group go to My Chat Package Groups

The two empty text fields under the heading and subheading are read only fields. As you select chat packages their ID will show up in one of the fields, while the second field will show
the content character count. That character count value is useful if you are trying to keep the overall chat package group below a certain size. The character count is rather relative as
additional characters will be included based on AiWerkz IcePPL tagging.

Managing Chat Package Groups
Chat package groups can be deleted and recreated very easily. In the My Chat Packages existing chat package groups can be deleted or accessed as well as copying the URL to the chat package group for use in the chat interface.

Deleting a chat package group will not delete the chat packages.
